Deposit Cryptocurrency on the Wrong Network

Cryptocurrency transfers occur on different digital ledgers (networks) called
blockchains. Each network has its own transaction rules, address format, and verification system. Therefore, if you send a cryptocurrency over the wrong network, even if the transaction appears “successful” technically, the recipient (exchange or wallet) cannot correctly identify and process the transaction.
When investing in cryptocurrency, it is vital that both the selected network and the address are correct. Choosing the wrong network can result in the sent funds being irretrievably lost.
What Should You Do About Cryptocurrency Investments Made Through the Wrong Network?
You can submit a refund request via our
https://www.cointr.com/tr/asset/rechargeRefund page. Tap the Apply button, fill in the form with your transaction details, and then tap the Submit button. Please ensure that the information you enter in the form is correct. Our team will then review your request and inform you.
In Which Cases Will the Request Be Rejected and No Refund Will Be Made?
In cases where users request a refund after an incorrect transaction, some requests may be rejected or no refund may be possible. This is because crypto transactions are irreversible by nature and, in some cases, funds may be technically inaccessible.
-
Unsupported network: If the cryptocurrency was sent via an unsupported network, a refund may not be possible because we do not systemically track that network.
-
Incorrect information: If the user provided incorrect, incomplete, or false information to the exchange, the request may be rejected for security reasons. Therefore, please ensure that the information you provide in the form is correct.
-
Independent blockchains: If the asset you deposited is not defined on the correct network, your balance will never arrive and will not be visible on the blockchain. For example, ERC20 and TRC20 are two different networks. A coin sent via TRC20 to an ERC20 address never actually reaches the Ethereum network. Therefore, a refund is not possible.
To prevent such errors in the future:
-
Clearly verify which network is being used.
-
Double-check the network name, address, and coin type before every transaction.
Since crypto transactions occur in a decentralized structure, responsibility for erroneous transactions lies with the user. In many cases, funds may be permanently lost. Therefore, double-checking multiple times before making a transaction is always the best approach.
